A Selection of Organic Strategies to Grow Your TikTok Followers

In this article we share A Selection of Organic Strategies to Grow Your TikTok Followers.

Alongside the hugely popular Instagram, people are looking to make a name for themselves on the relatively new platform, TikTok. Particularly popular with young people, TikTok is a social media tool with huge potential.

In fact, since its initial inception in 2016, the Chinese video-sharing focused social networking service has become humongous.

TikTok is so popular that it has already become a saturated space full of creatives. For marketers, the platform is beginning to produce the goods and generate positive results off the back of a variety of campaigns.

Some of the major ‘TikTokers’ are pulling in vast sums of money thanks to their millions of followers. The content on the platform varies, but most of it is geared towards short footage and easy to digest clips, all of which can be recorded using the same smartphone devices people use to watch Hulu and Netflix, popular apps on their mobile devices.

Growing a following in such a crowded space can be tough, though. It’s not easy to acquire followers on any social media platform, but TikTok requires a different type of strategy to many others.

Should you or your business be keen on joining the TikTok revolution, then here is a look at some organic strategies in which you can build up a following.

Identify Your Target Audience

TikTok Marketing Growth

This applies to most other social media platforms, but you need to know who you’re targeting before you even consider doing anything else.

Put time into identifying who exactly your target audience is, perhaps by trawling through the followers you do have but while also assessing similar profiles to yours and seeing the types of individuals who follow them.

Once you’ve established your audience, you can craft your content accordingly. Always keep them in mind. After all, you want to build a community here. If they’re ignored, they’ll go elsewhere.

Leverage Trends

In the same way various topics trend on Twitter, the same applies to TikTok. In fact, with TikTok, the app thrives off the back of trends. Not every trend will be suited to you or the brand you’re trying to establish, but should there be any that might appeal, be sure to give them a go.

Also, assess the trends your audience is participating in. Be original, don’t be afraid to get creative, and try and have some fun with it. If you can get your personality across, then you’ve done a good job.

Educate Your Followers

The best social media success stories come from people who have entertained or educated the masses. Nobody explores the extensive array of content on social media to be bored.

Always make sure you’re using the platform to create engaging and interesting content for your community of followers. If you can become an informative and helpful resource for people, then you’ll keep them engaged.

Use Hashtags

It’s no secret, hashtags are important. Use them wisely to not only add a more professional feel to your content but also to reach the right people.

When you use a combination of branded hashtags, trending hashtags, business-specific hashtags, and general hashtags, the results can be encouraging. Assess your audience once again, the hashtags they’re using, and look at any competitors and how they go about it also.

Cross-Promote Videos

If you’re serious about establishing a presence online, then chances are you aren’t just on TikTok. With that in mind, make sure all of the content you’re sharing is being posted on any other platforms too. The more bait you have in the water, the more fish you’re likely to catch.
