  • How your logo looks can make or break the success of your business. Using an inappropriate logo can stir controversy about your business, making it hard for you to gain customers and earn a profit. In worse cases, a bad logo can become the reason why your business will face legal responsibilities. In this article, we discuss the Key Components That Make A Great Logo Design.

These are just some of the reasons why you should be careful in creating a logo design. Creating an effective and great logo design is actually easy. As long as the following components

are present in your logo, you’re good to go:

    • Remember To Keep It Simple
    • Work On Making Your Logo Memorable

    Understand Your Target Audience First

In the business context, a logo can become a powerful tool to attract customers and stand out from the competition. For novices in the business arena, a logo can expedite the process of becoming a leader in a specific industry. However, before you start thinking about the color or shape of your logo, start from the basic first.

It’s important that you understand who your target audience is and what are they looking for in a logo. Once you have this information, it’ll be easy for you to create a logo that communicates the right message to the right people.

To help you during this process, consider the following points:

    • First, determine who’s your ideal customers and assess what factors or elements matter to them. Are customers after your service or quality? Does your business offer cheaper products and services than the competition? Are you offering cutting edge technology in the industry?

Determine the reasons why customers love your brand and highlight those in your logo. If you don’t have any idea why your customers continue to patronize your business, go ahead and ask.

    • Second, assess what type of message you want your logo to convey to the public. This task will require you to look deeper than merely determining what your products and services are.

Look for values that your business lives for and connect that information with the elements that are important to your target audience. This information will allow you to communicate with your ideal customers through your logo.

    Remember To Keep It Simple

Businesses would want to be different from the competition, which is why they try to go overboard with their logos. In their minds, “the more, the merrier.” This is one of the biggest misconceptions people have when creating a great logo design.

No matter how tempting it can be to bombard the public with a logo made from different font styles, colors, and images, don’t do it. A cluttered logo design will make it hard for you to communicate with your target audience.

Check the logos of the multi million companies. Coca-Cola, for example, has a very simple logo – a one-liner which only uses two colors. The same is true for Adidas and Starbucks.

Take note of how these giant brands are creating their logos and follow their footsteps; remember to always keep it simple. Ideally, a strong logo will have few elements. But, all of these elements are integral to each other in order to communicate one clear message to the target audience.

If you think there are elements in your logo that don’t contribute to the message you’re trying to get across, get rid of them. Less is always more when it comes to logo designs.

Work On Making Your Logo Memorable

Being memorable is one of the most essential elements in a logo. Your target audience should be able to remember your brand the moment they glance at your logo. After all, you’re expecting your logo to catch the attention of your target audience, right?

To do this, work on making a logo that’s singular in form and can easily be recalled. Put yourself in the customer’s shoes and give honest feedback on your logo. Can you immediately describe the basic elements of the logo? Does the logo seem interesting? Was the logo appealing and attractive even when seen from a distance?

A logo that’s too complex and fussy will be very hard to remember. When your logo is too complicated, your target audience won’t even bother looking at it. The public can’t get the message of the logo, and the thought of patronizing your brand will be dismissed.

When your target audience already has a negative impression on your logo, they’ll think the same of your products and services.

    Exert Time And Effort

Don’t pressure yourself thinking that you can create a great logo design overnight. Since a great logo has several components, pour in effort to master the craft. The more time you exert in this task, the greater your logo design will be!
